In order to calculate liability, you first have to allocate a credit:
This is confirmed to the right of the UTR:
Further information on allocating credits can be found in the video 'How to use the Ftax SA100'.
When you have entered all the necessary information and are ready to make the calculation, click the 'Calculate' button and wait:
If there are any errors or omissions, a pop-up will warn you:
The relevant section will be highlighted in yellow in the status bar on the right:
Click on the section headings on the right to navigate to the boxes which need amending.
Hover the cursor over the highlighted field in order to gain advice on how to correct the errors:
If there are no errors or emissions when the 'Calculate' button is clicked, then a brief summary of the tax liability will be displayed in the bottom panel:
Click the 'View Overview' box in the bottom panel in order to view the calculation summary:
You can also access this information from the bookmarks bar on the left:
This provides access to both the SA302 and a payment summary:
Please note that the payment summary is an estimate. For a definitive guide on how much tax is owed, you should wait two working days after submitting the Ftax SA100 and then log in to your HMRC account.
If you need to edit and recalculate the Ftax SA100, click 'Edit':
Then make your changes and click 'Calculate' again. You can recalculate as many times as you wish.
